Gareth Edwards

Gareth Owen Edwards CBE (born 12 July 1947) is a former Welsh rugby union footballer who played scrum-half, considered by many to be one of the greatest players in the history of the game. He was prominent in the Welsh national team that was to the fore in European rugby in the 60s and 70s.
In the 2007 New Years Honours List, Gareth was made a CBE for services to sport.

Max Boyce

Max Boyce, MBE, (born 7 September 1945 in Glynneath) is a Welsh comedian, singer and former coal miner. He rose to fame in the United Kingdom during the mid-1970s with an act that combined musical comedy with his passion for rugby union and his origins in the mining communities of South Wales. Having sold more than two million albums in a career spanning four decades, and playing to full houses all around the world, Boyce is one of the most successful and enduring entertainers in Welsh history.

Christian Malcolm

Christian Malcolm sprang to prominence in 1998 when he won the 100m and 200m at the World Junior Championships. He has long shown promise and has now proven himself to be among the world's best sprinters.


In 1996, aged 17, Christian was Britain’s fastest junior over 200m and reached the world junior semi-finals in Sydney. Continual improvement during the early summer was highlighted by victories in a GB junior match over 100m and 200m the latter breaking Jamie Baulch’s Welsh Junior record. At the European Juniors Christian won three European junior medals; 200m gold, 4 x 100m gold and 100m silver. His 100m time of 10.24 beating Colin Jackson’s long standing Welsh senior record. Christian’s arrival on the International circuit was against the legendary Carl Lewis at Zurich in 1997; Christian beat Carl who earmarked him as a future star.
