THE RICHARD HUNT FOUNDATION Welsh Warrior

Why did my son die?

On Monday evening ITV showed a documentary following Richard's mother Hazel.  The mother of the 200th UK soldier to die in Afghanistan investigates whether enough is being done to protect our troops on the battlefield, and what care is offered to the injured.

During the making of the documentary there were other pertinent questions asked by Hazel but the powers to be did not want these aired, we are looking into whether we can air these to the public domain or not.  The film is linked to below take 30 minutes to watch as Hazel asks the questions we all want answers to.

  1. As i missed this on Monday i have just watched it on playback and i agree what this young mans mother said , that we watch it on tv, read about in newspapers but dont really think about untill it hits your community, well it did on March the5th as we lost one of our young men Jonny Allott.Imust say this whole community is in total shock, i did not know the young man personly but he was a friend of my young daughter who was 20 on the 7th of March.Nd he would have been 20 in May.So what can we do as a community as this young man gave is life for us so it is up to us to help them .I watched anouther proggram the other night where i was quite shocked to hear a mum and dad paid for some of thier sons eqpment for his birthday. Why is this happening.
